Does my daughter have to belong to a troop? Girls of all ages can join either as part of a troop or as "Juliettes" - independent Girl Scouts. Juliettes receive all the benefits of Girl Scout membership. They can enjoy all the wonderful Council-sponsored programs and events throughout the year, even attend camp, without the structure of regular troop meetings. Of course, the Girl Scout Council of Vermont does have over 650 troops operating state-wide, if that is your preference What age do you have to be to join Girl Scouts?
