Here’s the latest! The next reunion is scheduled for July 25-31 in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2009!! What could be better than summer in the Rockies, touring the Air Force Academy, traveling up Pike’s Peak, and spending days together in the Colorado sunshine? The Henning sisters who have been leaders of past reunions and several of their Colorado sister Girl Scouts, along with the Vermont women will join together to plan this event. And the best part? The first 250 participants will be housed together on the campus of Colorado College. You won’t want to miss it! So mark your calendar and plan now to join us, as women from all four Roundups commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Colorado Roundup!

Our very special CD, The Stories and Songs of Senior Roundups, is ready! One of the great things about Girl Scouting is the life-long connection we make with others. Who ever thought all those years ago that the friendships made as teens would be so lasting that they would draw us together again and again? As Senior Girl Scouts who were selected for Roundups, you were this nation’s finest young women. You returned home with a passion and commitment that changed Girl Scouting, making it stronger and richer for the girls who followed you. Last summer, the Girl Scout Council of Vermont hosted a Roundup Reunion at Button Bay. Women from all four Roundups spent two nights recording, raising their voices to remember their Roundup experiences in songs and stories. This CD is a wonderful reflection of their time together. In true Girl Scout spirit, it was recorded outdoors, as they gathered together at the end of the day. You will hear the rich voices of women who share a love of these songs and singing together. They combined their voices with the night sounds of a Vermont summer – crickets, peepers and night birds. Intertwined through the CD are wonderful stories told by women who lived them of each of the Roundups. We hope you enjoy their stories and their music, and that it moves you to sing along with them as you remember your own time as a Girl Scout!
