How We Provide Services... Today's Girl Scouts Are Strong, Smart and Cool! We at the Girl Scout Council of Vermont are creating places around the state where girls can be themselves and enjoy the FUN, POWER, and FRIENDSHIP of girls together. It's not about uniforms and crafts any longer. Girl Scouting offers a safe, nurturing environment that provides the support and acceptance girls need to discuss and explore the topics and activities that interest them. Girls are still able to enjoy all the "traditional" activities that you may remember -- like camp and cookies. BUT, today's Girl Scouts are given opportunities to participate in extraordinary field trips and to develop their potential in a variety of interest areas -- like science, sports, math, art, photography, creative writing, computer information technology, and engineering. Also, community service is key to the Girl Scout experience. Girls receive services through over 600 troops statewide. The Girl Scout Council of Vermont also owns two camp properties: Twin Hills in Richmond and Camp Wapanacki in Hardwick, Vermont. And, the council operates day camps statewide during the summer as well as a variety of special projects, activities, and events throughout the year. Oh, and did we mention FUN? A full curriculum of leader training courses are offered giving adults the skills needed to provide girls with safe, sound, and FUN program experiences. When girls are actively engaged in programs and activities that interest them, fun is a given. And learning each new skill brings a happy smile and a sense of pride and accomplishment. Girl Scouting helps girls make their dreams realities! Click Here to view our 2006 Annual Report.
